Construction Buildability Points

Under this scheme, BCA will accord a construction firm or company with Construction Buildability Points if the firm or company is able to demonstrate that its system or product is able to meet the following assessment criteria:

  1. the system or product leads to higher productivity;
  2. the system or product is applied to at least 3 earlier projects in Singapore;
  3. the system or product is executed by substantially the same team of workers/personnel across different projects;
  4. the firm or company seeks to continually improve its productivity; and
  5. the firm or company has shared its experiences with the industry.

The firm or company issued with Construction Buildability Points may be awarded with up to 5 points for the system or product. The number of points to be awarded shall be determined by BCA.

The Construction Buildability Points shall not be used for the purpose of meeting the regulated minimum buildability score. That is, they can only be added to the overall project's buildability score after the project has already met the regulated minimum buildability score.

A review of the system or product for which Construction Buildability Points are awarded would be conducted yearly to ensure that all the assessment criteria as mentioned above are fully met. In the event that the company fails to meet any one of the criteria, BCA reserves the right to withdraw the Construction Buildability Points.

BCA will, as part of the annual review, identify suitable (if any) firm or company to be given the Construction Buildability Points. Construction companies may apply to BCA for consideration of award of Construction Buildability Points.
