CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
(ENFORCEMENT & STRUCTURAL INSPECTION DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL FUNCTIONS DIVISION)
You will be part of the team that administer periodic structural inspection of existing buildings.
You are required to process reports submitted by professional engineers, carry out site
inspections and carry out enforcement actions against non-compliance with dangerous building
order and unauthorised building works or structures. You are also expected to deal with other
building control and regulatory functions.
Requirements
- A degree in civil/structural engineering; preferably with MSc.
- A practising professional engineer registered with the Professional Engineers Board with
at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
(CIVIL DEFENCE SHELTER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL FUNCTIONS DIVISION)
You will vet and process building and structural engineering plans of civil defence shelters and
key installations submitted by registered architects and professional engineers, conduct
regulatory site checks during construction, and participate in commissioning tests. In addition, you
will provide specialist support to other agencies on civil defence shelter and building security
matters.
Requirements
- A degree in civil engineering from a university recognised by the Professional Engineers
Board for registration as a professional engineer. Those who possess qualifications in the
field of protective engineering will have an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of design experience in building engineering works.
ENGINEER (Post 1)
(COASTAL & PROJECT MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL FUNCTIONS DIVISION)
You will be part of the team that works on the various issues to prepare the organisation for the
role of lead agency for the coastal protection and management. The job requires you to work with
numerous other organisations to plan, carry out studies and draw up the regulatory framework
and requirements to protect and manage the coasts. You will also be expected to be able to
manage shoreline protection and other infrastructure development projects.
Requirements
- A degree in civil, coastal or environmental engineering/management related discipline with
good knowledge of the subjects related to coastal protection or coastal engineering.
Registered professional engineers will have an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of working experience. Those who have shorter work experience but
extensive involvement in coastal engineering/protection/management projects or researches
can also apply.
- Good writing, communication and analytical skills.
ENGINEER (Post 2)
(COASTAL & PROJECT MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL FUNCTIONS DIVISION)
You will be part of the team that manages the upgrading of public areas in private estates under
the estate upgrading programme. The job includes the overall planning of the programme,
engagement and management of the consultants for the projects, contract administration and
ensuring the successful implementation of all the projects. You are also expected to work with
various public agencies and grassroot organisations.
Requirements
- A degree in civil engineering or project management discipline.
Registered professional engineers will have an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of working experience with knowledge and experience in project or contract management.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal relationship and understanding of the government procurement
procedures would be an advantage.
SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER
(CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS & CONSTRUCTION)
You will explore solutions for our buildings and climate, and validate environmentally sustainable
principles for building design, construction and operation from a sustainable whole-life approach. You will
work closely with our research partners to undertake applied research and put research findings to
practical use to advance green building technologies in Singapore. This will include test-bedding
innovations and inventions at our Zero Energy Building (ZEB@BCA Academy), as well as working with
industry partners to conduct pilot-implementation of new initiatives.
Requirements
- A post-graduate degree in mechanical engineering. Those with relevant industry
experience will have a strong added advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
- Dynamic personality, self-motivated and with a keen interest in improving the built environment.
