CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS
(BUILDING ENGINEERING DIVISION)
You will be part of the team that process and approve structural plans and calculations of the
buildings submitted by professional engineers and accredited checkers. You are required to perform audit checks on
selected structures, conduct construction site checks and take proactive actions to prevent damages to adjacent
properties. You are also expected to investigate into complaints on buildings that are dangerous and assess their
structural integrity and safety.
Requirements
- A degree in civil/structural engineering, preferably with MSc.
- A practising professional engineer registered with the Professional Engineers Board
or those in the process of applying for registration.
- Experienced in the use of structural design software.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
(ENFORCEMENT & STRUCTURAL INSPECTION DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL FUNCTIONS DIVISION)
You will be part of the team that administer periodic structural inspection of existing buildings.
You are required to process reports submitted by professional engineers, perform site
inspections and carry out enforcement actions against non-compliance with dangerous building
order and unauthorised building works or structures. You are also expected to deal with other
building control and regulatory functions.
Requirements
- A degree in civil/structural engineering, preferably with MSc.
- A practising professional engineer registered with the Professional Engineers Board with at
least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
SENIOR DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
(STRATEGIC MATERIALS DEPARTMENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIVISION)
You will play a major role in ensuring the adequacy of the supply of construction materials and
dormitories for foreign construction workers. You will be responsible for planning and
implementing strategies in the respective areas. This includes identifying, securing and
developing suitable sites as well as managing the developed sites.
Requirements
- A degree in civil/structural engineering.
- At least 3-5 years related experience, preferably in planning and execution of construction projects.
- Strong analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Class 3 driving license is an added advantage.
SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
(COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT, CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION)
You will be part of a dynamic team to plan and execute corporate communications work,
including media relations, corporate relations, preparation of speeches, publication of newsletter and annual report,
and developing the corporate website.
Requirements
- A degree in mass communications or equivalent.
- At least 3 - 5 years related experience, preferably in corporate communications work.
- Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dynamic, self-motivated and a team player.
- Creative and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Resourceful with good organizational and planning skills, and an eye for detail.
LEGAL OFFICER
(LEGAL UNIT, CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION)
You will provide overall legal support to BCA on regulatory issues
as well as legal advice in the area of general corporate and commercial contracts.
Your responsibilities include assisting the various divisions in the initial drafting and proposed amendments
to the Statutes and Regulations under the purview of BCA; providing legal advice in the enforcement of the
said Statutes and Regulations; drafting, reviewing and providing sound legal advice on a broad range of corporate
and commercial contracts (including tenders); developing and setting in place internal legal
processes and guidelines for the various divisions.
Requirements
- A good honours degree with 1-5 years PQE in private practice or in-house and is called
to the Singapore Bar or other Commonwealth jurisdictions.
- Corporate work experience would be an advantage.
- A positive attitude, good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Possess strong analytical skills and be able to provide sound legal advice.
- Able to work independently as well as effectively as a team.
TECHNICAL OFFICERS
(BUILDING ENGINEERING DIVISION)
Your key role is to assist engineers to process the structural plans submitted by professional
engineers, to conduct site checks at construction sites and to carry out site investigation
pertaining to feedback from the public. You are also expected to assist the office in general
administrative duties relating to regulatory services.
Requirements
- A diploma in civil/structural engineering.
- At least 3-4 years working experience in civil and structural engineering works.
- Experienced in the use of various structural analysis software is essential.
TECHNICAL OFFICERS
(ENFORCEMENT & STRUCTURAL INSPECTION DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL FUNCTIONS DIVISION)
Your key role is to administer and process periodic structural inspection of existing buildings
which includes monitoring and documentation. You are required to assist engineers in Inspection
and enforcement actions against unauthorised building works or structures and other building
control and regulatory functions.
Requirements
- A building-related diploma; preferably in civil & structural.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in building works.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
TESTING OFFICERS
(SKILLS CERTIFICATION DEPARTMENT, MANPOWER & STRATEGIC POLICY DIVISION)
Work Location : BCA Academy
You will be part of the team conducting skills testing for
construction workers.
Requirements
- A registered crane operator with min 'O' level with at least 6 years of relevant crane operation
experience or;
- A holder of certified welder inspector certificate or AWS 6G welding certificate with
at least 2 years site experience in welding works.
