The BCA Green Mark Scheme was launched in January 2005 as an initiative to shape a more environmentally friendly and sustainable built environment.
During the BCA Awards ceremony in May 2012, BCA gave out 202 Green Mark Awards and 3 BCA Green Mark Champion Awards. The Champion Award winners were Ascendas, CapitaLand Group and National University of Singapore. Pilot projects for BCA Green Mark for Existing Schools and BCA Green Mark for Restaurants were also awarded.
As of Mar 2013, there are close to 1500 Green Mark building projects in Singapore.
