What is it?

The Productivity Enhancement Voucher Scheme provides financial assistance to contractors who are looking for ways to improve productivity and plan to consult experts from BCA-recognised Knowledge Institutions. The contractors may also engage their own consultancies. The scope of their consultation could include conducting studies, developing practical ideas, improving processes and customising training courses.

Who is it for?

A contractor, specialist contractor or subcontractor incorporated and operating in Singapore will be eligible.

 

What is it for?

The Productivity Enhancement Voucher Scheme supports contractors to consult experts from Knowledge Institutions or external consultants to conduct studies for ideas that improve their productivity and work process. This also includes conducting specific training courses that are customised to their technology needs.

 

How much?

The grant supports 50% of the consultancy fee generally or up to $20,000, whichever is lower.

Applications will be evaluated based on the potential improvement in productivity. The project should generate savings in man-days or improvements in productivity for the specific work process by at least 20%.

Application forms are now available.

How to claim?

Once the application is approved, BCA will issue the voucher to the applicant, which will allow the Knowledge Institution or consultancy to start the study. Upon completion of the project, BCA will directly disburse the fund to the Knowledge Institution or consultancy.

 

Frequently asked questions

1. How will this incentive scheme benefit my company?
The incentive scheme aims to help contractors to engage the Knowledge Institutions recognised by BCA or external consultants to achieve productivity gains for construction projects. The scope includes feasibility studies, developing practical ideas, improving processes and customised training courses.

2. Is there an expiry date for the voucher?
Yes. All vouchers bear expiry dates. The firm should commence the study within one month from the date of approval.

The applicant should also indicate the estimated study duration for evaluation. In any case, the duration should be kept within two years generally.

3. I am a material / equipment supplier. Can I apply for the voucher?
No. Only a contractor, specialist contractor or subcontractor may apply.

4. Can I use the voucher to engage a foreign firm as the external consultant?
The external consultants must be registered and operating in Singapore.

5. Can my firm submit multiple applications?
Yes, you may submit multiple applications provided the studies are different and do not have any overlapping areas.

6. Can I apply for the Productivity Enhancement Voucher if I have already received a grant under other schemes offered by BCA or another government agency?
You may do so if the previous funding received was for a different study. For example, a firm may receive a grant from another government agency for study A, while at the same time receive the Productivity Enhancement Voucher for study B.

7. How soon will I know the outcome of my application?
You will be notified on the outcome of your application via post within a month if all supporting documents are in order.

8. How can I use the voucher?
The vouchers can be used to procure services by the Knowledge Institutions (KI) or external consultants. When the study is completed, BCA will disburse the fund to the Knowledge Institution or external consultants directly.
