The Singapore Sustainable Blueprint (SSB) has set a target to improve energy efficiency by 35% from 2005 levels by 2030. To meet the SSB target, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) aims for at least 80% of the buildings in Singapore to be more resource-efficient, and achieve at least a Green Mark Certified rating by 2030. To complement the on-going efforts, R&D will be one of the key enablers to help achieve greater resource efficiency in buildings.

BCA, A*STAR and MND have launched a joint grant call for proposals in green building technologies. We invite interested parties to submit joint-proposals in these areas:

1. Building materials; and
2. Energy-efficient solutions/ technologies.

A panel of experts will review these proposals for their relevance, economic potential , environmental impact and how well they can be applied locally.

Eligibility

This is open to researchers in all local public sector research organisations, universities, polytechnics, A*STAR-funded research institutes and centres, and Singapore-based companies/companies operating here.

To encourage R&D collaboration between Singapore public sector research organisations and private companies in building and construction industry, each project should have at least one industry partner as its co-investigator.

For submissions in softcopy, the joint-proposal must be sent to A-STAR_EP-SERC@a-star.edu.sg with the e-mail subject title Green Building TSRP. The deadline for softcopy submission is 15 June 2011 at 12 noon.
