Mondays to Fridays - 8:30 am to 5.00 pm
Except Wednesdays - 8.30 am to 4.30 pm

Q5 What is the SEC(K)?
Ans

Construction 21 (or 'C21') was launched on 20 October 1999. As part of the effort in raising the skills level for the construction industry, there is a need for the construction workforce to become knowledge-based. The new Skills Evaluation Certificate has incorporated the written test component in addition to the practical skill test. The new certificate was named Skills Evaluation Certificate (K).

   
Q6 Can those who are not in the construction industry apply for trade tests?
Ans

Yes. However, only those who pass the SEC/SEC(K) test are eligible for 'Construction' work permit.

   
Q7 What are the languages available for the Skills Evaluation Certificate SEC[K] trade tests?
Ans

The Skills Evaluation Certificate SEC[K] is available in English or Chinese only; with some SEC(K) tests available in Thai and Tamil as well.

   
Q8 Which certificates are recognised by MOM for foreign workers' lower levy?
Ans

Ans

Ans

There are many ways to obtain the application form. You can obtain more information by one of the following ways:

Ans

The skills certification trade tests are open to all applicants.

Q12 How do I apply?
Ans

Applicants may mail the completed application form together with photocopies of all relevant documents and payment to Manpower Development Department at the enrolment counter at No. 200 Braddell Road Singapore 579700.
Alternately you may enrol at the counter at No. 200 Braddell Road Singapore 579700.

   
Q13 Which are the days my company can send the foreign workers for Identity Verification?
Ans

Identity Verification of foreign workers is carried out on all working days except for Saturdays.

   
Q14 How can I know the status of my application?
Ans

You can view the status of your application at Application Status.

   
Q15 Will I be refunded the test fee if my application is unsuccessful?
Ans

Yes, the test fees will be refunded if your application is unsuccessful.

   
Payment Of Fees
Q16 Must payment of fees be made upon application?
Ans

Yes, payment of fees must be made upon application of Skills Testing’s programmes.

Can fees be paid by installments?
Ans

Full payment of fees shall be made upon application. Presently, there is no facility for payment by installment.

   
Q18 What modes of payment are available?
Ans

Payment of fees can be made through GIRO, cashcard, NETS or credit card.

Q19 If I have already been notified about the acceptance of my application and the date of my course/test, will I be able to withdraw from it? Will there be any penalties?
Ans

Please refer to the respective programmes for the Replacement, Withdrawal, Deferment, Postponement or Programme Switching guidelines.

   
Q20 Is there any expiry date for the Skills Evaluation Certificate (SEC/SEC[K])?
Ans

No, there is no expiry date for the Skills Evaluation Certificate (SEC/SEC[K]).

   
Q21 When will my test results be released?
Ans

The test results will be released within ten days after the test date.

   
Q22 How will I be informed about my test results?
Ans

Manpower Development Department will mail the test results to the correspondent’s address as stated in the application form. Results for locally conducted Skills Evaluation Certificate (SEC[K]) skills tests will be released 10 working days after the test.
