Appendix E : Standard Certification For Fixings Of Claddings

Explanatory note:
QP(Cladding) – qualified person submitting design for fixings of claddings
QP(ST) – qualified person responsible for the design of the main building structural works
AC – accredited checker responsible for checking the design of the main building structural works

Case 1: If the QP(Cladding) submitting the design of fixings of claddings  for approval is the QP(ST).

In addition to the existing standard certification, the QP(ST) is required to certify on the plans as follows:

“With reference to the structural plans and design calculations of the fixings of the claddings works for the project ref no. ___________ /___ , I_____________ PE No: certify that design for the fixings of the cladding is structurally safe and its load transfer to the main structure has been taken into consideration. ”

The AC will submit a certificate as follows:

"With reference to the structural plans and design calculations of the fixings of the claddings works for the project ref no. ___________/___ , I ____________AC No: certify that the load transfer to the main structure has been taken into consideration and it is effective and in order. ”

Case 2: If the QP(Cladding) submitting the design of fixings of claddings  for  approval is different from the QP(ST).

In addition to the existing standard certification, the QP(Cladding) has to certify the following on the plans:

" With reference to the structural plans and design calculations of the fixings of claddings for the project ref no. ____________/___ , I_____________________,  PE No: ________, certify that the design for the fixings of claddings is structurally safe and its load transfer to the main building is effective and in order."

The QP(ST) will submit a certificate as follows:

"With reference to the structural plans and design calculations of the fixings of claddings for the project ref no. ___________/___ , I ____________________, PE No: _________, certify that the load transfer to the main structure has been taken into consideration and it is effective and in order."

The AC will submit a certificate as follows:

"With reference to the structural plans and design calculations of the fixings of claddings for the project ref no. ___________/___ , I ____________________, AC No: _________, certify that the load transfer to the main structure has been taken into consideration and it is effective and in order."
