Terms and Conditions

Companies are to read and comprehend fully the following terms and conditions before using the BCA Jobsearch service. Companies participating in the BCA Jobsearch Service is taken to haveagreed to all terms and conditions as stated herein:

  1. Glossary
    1. The Advertiser means companies in the financial grades of A1, A2, B1, B2 and under work head references CW01 (General Building), CW02 (Civil Engineering), and L5, L6 under work head reference CR08, which are making use of the BCA Jobsearch Service to place recruitment ads on BCA's website.
    2. BCA is the Building and Construction Authority.
    3. BCA Jobsearch Service is a recruitment service provided by BCA to The Advertiser to place recruitment ads on the BCA website.
    4. The Service is taken to mean the BCA Jobsearch service.
    5. Words importing the singular shall include the plural and words importing one gender shall include the other.
  2. Agreement for ad placement
    1. Subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter set out, BCA may make arrangements for The Advertiser's recruitment ads to be placed on BCA's website upon timely receipt of full details required for the ad.
    2. The Service is not an on-line job-matching programme. The BCA will not be responsible for the receipt and compilation of resumes and other application materials from applicants. Nor is the BCA responsible for the selection, interview and offer of job postings to respondents on behalf of The Advertiser. Respondents to ads placed through The Service are required to respond directly to The Advertiser. Such activities remain the responsibility of The Advertiser.
    3. The BCA does not guarantee the successful engagement of suitable candidates.
    4. Any candidate accepted by The Advertiser will be done at The Advertisers' own risk.
    5. The Advertiser is not to use The Service for any purposes other than the placement of staff recruitment ads. Any information, which is not pertinent to the recruitment ad, will be duly removed.
    6. The BCA Jobsearch Service is a recruitment service provided by the BCA for no consideration at all and the BCA is under no obligation, responsibility or liability whatsoever in respect thereof. In particular, and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing:
      1. The BCA shall not be obliged to upload or otherwise place any recruitment advertisement or information on The Service.
      2. The BCA shall be entitled to delete, remove, amend, modify any recruitment advertisement or information on The Service as it deems fit and appropriate without prior notice to the Advertiser.
      3. The BCA shall not be liable for any loss, damage, costs and/ or expense howsoever arising in respect of or in connection with The Service.
      4. The BCA may, at any time, deactivate, suspend, terminate or otherwise discontinue The Service.
      5. The BCA shall not be liable for any loss, damage, costs and/ or expenses that the Advertiser may have suffered or incurred. No claims whatsoever shall be made against the BCA or its agents or servants in respect of any such loss, damage, costs and/ or expenses.
  3. Responsibilities of THE ADVERTISER
    1. Upon acceptance of the Terms and Conditions laid out, The Advertiser is required to furnish fully, information as needed in the Employer's Advertisement Request Form and return it to BCA via fax at 6323 7278. The Advertiser can download the request form, complete it duly and e-mail it to the following address: linda_yee@bca.gov.sg. Forms are available for downloading after clicking the "I Accept" button at the end of the Terms and Conditions page.
    2. The Advertiser is to ensure that information to be posted on The Service is accurate.
    3. The Advertiser is to furnish only information that is pertinent to the recruitment ad. Any messages that are deemed unrelated to the purpose of the recruitment ad or are considered to be publicity in nature will be duly removed.
    4. All information and materials relating to the recruitment ad should reach BCA at least 7 working days before it is uploaded on the BCA website.
    5. The Advertiser will be assigned a code for each advertisement request. The Advertiser is advised to use the assigned code to inform the BCA of any necessary amendments to be made to the ad, to remove or to extend the ad.
    6. The Advertiser is to undertake their individual human resource functions according to their respective HR policies. Candidates are also accepted at The Advertiser's own risk.
    7. Upon successful recruitment of candidates, The Advertiser is to notify BCA immediately for the removal of recruitment ad.
    8. Each recruitment ad will be placed for a period of 1 month from the date of it's initial publish after which it will be automatically taken off the BCA website or under The Advertiser's notification, unless The Advertiser requests for an extension.
    9. Each extension will be for a period of 1 month following the expiry of the recruitment ad's initial appearance.
    10. The Advertiser is requested to fill in and fax the Employer's Feedback Form to the BCA upon closing date of the advertisement. The Feedback Form can be downloaded here.
    11. The Advertiser is not to use The Service for any unlawful purpose including without limitation criminal purposes.
    12. The Advertiser shall not use The Service to send or receive any message which is offensive on moral, religious, racial or political grounds or of an abusive, indecent, obscene, defamatory or menacing in nature.
    13. The Advertiser is not to delete, vary or amend any data and information posted by any other advertiser on The Service except such data and information posted by the particular Advertiser himself.
    14. The Advertiser is not to do anything or cause anything to be done which may be in breach of the Internet Code of Practice, any regulations, guidelines, instructions, etc in whatsoever form that the Singapore Broadcasting Authority may issue from time to time relating to The Service or otherwise.
  4. Maintenance of Service
    1. The BCA may at any time deactivate or suspend The Service without notice to carry out system maintenance, upgrading, testing, repairs and or other related work. BCA shall not be liable for any costs and expense that The Advertiser may suffer or incur. No claims are to be made against BCA for such costs incurred.
  5. Indemnity
    1. The Advertiser shall indemnify and hold harmless BCA at all times against all actions, proceedings, costs, claims, expenses, demands, liabilities, losses and damages limitation for defamation infringement of intellectual property rights, death, bodily injury, property damage or pecuniary losses however arising which BCA may sustain, incur, suffer or pay arising out of or in connection with the use of The Service by The Advertiser or any act or omission of The Advertiser thereof.
  6. Variation and Modification to The Service
    1. BCA reserves the right to amend any of the terms and conditions contained herein from time to time.
