INTRODUCTION
The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Professionals Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) is a national framework jointly developed by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
The Advanced Certificate in WSH is the Level 2 course under the WSH Professionals WSQ Framework. The qualification is the identified training course for WSH Coordinators by MOM.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, participants would be familiar with safety legislations, safety management system, accident investigation techniques, identification and analysis of hazards.
COURSE CONTENTS
· Administer WSH policy and coordinate compliance with WSH legal requirements
· Coordinate WSH management system, promote and develop WSH culture, measure and monitor WSH performance
· Recognise WSH hazards and control measures in construction industry. To coordinate implementation of emergency plans, response and investigate WSH incidents
· Prepare and facilitate classroom training
· Employability Skills System (ESS) - Communication and Relationship Management Supervisory
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
People intending to work as WSH coordinators under the WSH Act, factory occupiers, employers, occupational safety and health personnel and those interested in occupational safety and health.
ASSUMED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
The applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident or holder of a valid employment pass/work permit; and
· Achieved ESS Workplace Literacy (WPL) Assessments (Listening, Reading, Speaking & Writing) level 5 or holder of GCE ‘N’ Level English grade 5 & Mathematics grade 5; AND
· Possessed WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH or preferably 3 years of working experience in WSH; AND
· BCSS or ESS - WSH (supervisory level).

Applicants to submit the following documents for registration:
a) Copy of GCE “N” Level Result/ ESS WPL Result
b) A letter on your employment status and details
c) Copy of Work Permit or Employment Pass (for foreigners)
d) Copy of BCSS or ESS – WSH (supervisory level).
ASSESSMENT
Continuous assessments, assignments and written examination
CERTIFICATE
Participants who completed and assessed to be competent in each module will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA). The full ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH will only be awarded by WDA to participants who have successfully completed all the 5 modules and assessed to be competent.
ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS
Intake: Monthly
Venue: BCA Academy, 200 Braddell Road
Duration: 126 Training hours spread over about 6 months
Frequency: 1 - 2 evenings per week
(some lessons may also fall on full Saturdays)
Time: 6.30pm - 9.30pm (evening),
8.30am - 5.30pm (Saturday)
Course Fee with GST: $1,979.50 (per participant)
(Application forms must be accompanied by course fee)
SPUR GRANT FOR WSQ COURSE
• 90% of the fee payable will be supported under SPUR.
• Applicant only pays $197.95 (including GST)
• SPUR is applicable to Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident only.
