A permit
to carry out building works must be applied jointly by the following
parties:
| a) |
the applicant, that is,
the building owner or developer; |
| b) |
the qualified person who is responsible for the
supervision of the works, namely the professional engineer and; |
| c) |
the builder who will carry out the works. |
You can apply for a permit either together with your application for
approval of structural plans or after obtaining the plan approval.
The application shall be submitted to the BCA Central Counter.
A complete set of application for a permit comprises the following
documents:
| a) |
Application Form
BEV/B1 which has to be completed in duplicate by the applicant,
professional engineer, builder and site supervisor; |
| b) |
The form
BEV/B1_Appendix 1 on Declaration on the Planning Approval
Status of the Building Project which has to be completed by
a qualified person, whoever is appropriate; |
| c) |
The form
BEV/B1_Appendix 2 on Building Project Data for Research
& Statistic Unit to be completed by a qualified person, whoever
is appropriate; and |
| d) |
If the qualified site supervisor appointed by
the professional engineer has not been accepted by the Commissioner
of Building Control previously, an application Form
BEV/B3_COW or Form
BEV/B3_RE, depending on whether the site supervisor is a
clerk-of-work or resident engineer respectively, has to be completed
by the site supervisor and the professional engineer. On the
other hand, if the qualified site supervisor has been accepted
before, a copy of the Letter of Acceptance should be attached. |
The Commissioner of Building Control will grant a permit, together
with any terms or conditions to be imposed, to the applicant, builder,
and professional engineer.
