Application For Legal Requisition

General

Legal Requisition is usually made by a lawyer representing his client to inquire about encumbrances on a property. It is sent through a computer system known as Integrated Legal Requisition System (InteReq). Any law firm which subscribes to the system can send the application through this system.

Members of the public or lawyers who do not subscribe to InteReq and wish to apply for Legal Requisition through InteReq may do so at the two Crimsonlogic Pte Ltd Service Centres, viz:

Procedures

For application through InteReq, you need the following information: :

  • the property type and description, and
  • the property address, i.e. house number and road name, or
  • the land lot number(s) if the property address is not available.

You will receive an auto-generated reply upon application through InteReq.

In the reply, you will see answers related to the following:

  1. Date and status on the latest CSC/TOP/Plan Approval for main building and additions/alterations, if available.
  2. Whether an Order that is still in force has been served under Section 19 of the Building Control Act.
  3. Whether there are any expenses owed to the Government under Section 19 of the Building Control Act.
  4. Whether an Order that is still in force has been served under Section 24 or 25 of the Building Control Act.
  5. Whether there are any expenses owed to the Government under Section 24 or 25 of the Building Control Act.
  6. Whether a Notice that is still in force has been served under Section 6 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act.
  7. Whether a Direction that is still in force has been served under Section 7 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act.

Additional Information

If you wish to know more details relating to:

  • where an Order has been served under Section 19, 24 or 25 of the Building Control Act
  • when the subject building is under any investigation by the Commissioner of Building Control
  • where a Notice has been served under Section 6 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act or
  • where a Direction has been served under Section 7 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act.

Please complete the application form BPD_LS01 and submit to our service counter at AVA/BCA Service Centre, 52 Jurong Gateway Road #06-01, together with a copy of our Legal Requisition reply and the search fee. We may take 6 working days to process your application.


Fees

Legal Requisition application (with address) through the InteReq - $ 18 per property address.

Legal Requisition application (without address) through the InteReq - $18 per land lot number.

Application for additional information with Form BPD LS01 - $20 per property address. An additional $10 fee has to be paid if you wish to obtain a copy of the Order issued.

There is no refund of fee once your application has been submitted.
