Training and Testing at ATTCs

Workers who are eligible to be registered under the CoreTrade and Multi-Skilling scheme can undergo the training and skills assessments at BCA Academy or any of the 34 Approved Training and Testing Centres (ATTCs) in Singapore.

Continuing Education and Training (CET)

CoreTrade and Multi-Skilling personnel are required to attend CET under their respective registered trade category for the renewal of their CoreTrade and Multi-Skilling registration.

The objective of Continuing Education and Training (CET) is to continuously upgrade the construction workforce to support improvement in productivity, quality and safety. The CET will be a half-day to 1 day* course covering the latest codes and regulations, good practices, and demonstration of new methods, materials, tools and equipment relevant to the specific construction trades and/or areas of responsibility of the registered personnel.

*CET duration of 1 day is required for CoreTrade Supervisors.

Certificate of Successful Completion (CSC)

Safety of Windows Course

Singapore Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd has been appointed by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) as the Approved Training and Testing Centre (ATTC) to offer the Safety of Windows Course. The Certificate of Successful Completion, issued upon completion and certification, is recognized by the BCA to be considered a Trained Window Installer. Only persons with at least 12 months of practical experience in the installation of windows are eligible to attend the Safety of Windows Course.

Tower Crane (Saddle Jib) Operation, Mobile Crane Operation, Crawler Crane Operation

P-One (S) Pte Ltd has been appointed by Building and Construction Authority (BCA) as the Approved Training and Testing Centre (ATTC) to offer courses in Crawler Crane Operation, Mobile Crane Operation and Tower Crane (Saddle Jib) Operation. The Certificate of Successful Completion, issued upon completion and certification, is recognized by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) for crane operation licensing purposes.

Up to 95% of the course fee for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) are fundable by Skills Development Fund (SDF).

Mini Crane Operation

BS Technology Pte Ltd and JP Nelson Equipment Pte Ltd have been appointed by Building and Construction Authority (BCA) as the Approved Training and Testing Centre (ATTC) to offer courses in Mini Crane Operation. The Certificate of Successful Completion, issued upon completion and certification, is recognized by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to be considered as competent to operate the mini crane.

New Integrated Syllabi for all formwork trades – SA & SEC(K):

  1. With effect from 01 Jan 2016, all formwork trades training and test at the ATTCs and OTCs will be based on a new integrated syllabi which is enhanced with formwork safety components. Workers are required to answer another 10 multiple choice questions on the formwork safety components.

  2. Workers who attend the courses and pass the tests at the ATTCs and OTCs based on the integrated syllabi will be exempted from attending the Formwork Safety Course for Workers (FSCW) conducted by MOM’s Accredited Training Providers (ATPs) or Learning Service Providers (LSPs).

  3. The SEC(K) certificates issued to these workers will have “Enhanced” added to the trade names, for example:

    • Enhanced Aluminium Formwork
    • Enhanced System Formwork
    • Enhanced Timber Formwork

(a) Note: Workers who pass the CoreTrade tests will have the trade names shown on their result slips. Please refer to the attachedsample.

(b) CoreTrade Tradesman who passed the skill assessment for formwork trades before 01 Jan 2016 and wishes to upgrade to CoreTrade Foreman is required to take the Familiarisation Course and Skills Assessment for the relevant enhanced formwork trades.
