About the Temporary Relaxation of Licence Registration for Foreign Crane Operators
With effect from 1 September 2013, BCA has implemented new measures to help the built environment sector meet its demand for crane operators. This includes the launch of BCA's Crane Apprenticeship Programme to attract more locals in this trade as well as the review of the existing policy on recruitment of experienced foreign crane operators.

-Applicant Company/Firm seeking to employ new foreign crane operators or renew existing experienced foreign crane operators under this "Temporary relaxation scheme" has to first apply to BCA for approval before applying to MOM for work pass.
-Sponsoring company of construction work pass holders, who are existing crane & hoist operators and wish to cross train in other cranes, need not submit a copy of endorsed Form C under the 'Temporary relaxation scheme".
