iBuildSG Undergraduate Scholarship/Sponsorship (full-time)

What is it?

The iBuildSG Undergraduate Scholarship / Sponsorship programmes are offered by BCA, in collaboration with industry firms, to students of high calibre pursuing full-time Built Environment (BE) courses at local Universities and the BCA Academy.

Through these programmes, industry firms will get to provide graduates with an exciting and rewarding career in the BE sector.

The programme is structured into 2 stages:

  1. Stage 1 – Full-time Undergraduate Study
  2. Stage 2 – Post-Degree Development Programme

Who is it for?

Industry players who are keen to sponsor ‘A’ level, Polytechnic / BCA Academy (BCAA) graduates, National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) and BCAA undergraduates who:

  • are Singapore Citizens* or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • possess outstanding academic results and excellent CCA records and
  • are taking up full-time built environment courses at BCAA/NUS/NTU/SIT/SUTD  listed below:

* Male applicants must have completed or be exempted from full-time National Service.

How much?

The minimum annual scholarship sum is $18,000 per local scholar. BCA will co-fund $12,000 per year per scholarship, while the participating firm will contribute the rest of the scholarship sum. Scholars will serve a bond with the firm upon graduation.

The minimum annual sponsorship sum is $10,000 per local student. BCA will co-fund $7,000 per year per student, while the participating firm will contribute the rest of the sponsorship sum. Sponsored students will also have to serve a bond with the firm upon graduation.

After graduation, the new hire will go onto the Stage 2 – Post-degree Development Programme, a 2 year programme with training opportunities provided to the new hire and incentives to sponsor firms. Upon the completion of the bond, participants will receive $3,000 training grant to upskill their competencies under the Stage 2 programme. If participants remain one additional year in the sector, they can receive $7,000 retention incentive.

  • Industry firms who are keen to co-fund undergraduate scholarships / sponsorships for full-time built environment courses with BCA, please write in your request to BCA_Industry_UG@bca.gov.sg
  • Interested undergraduates, polytechnic graduates and students with GCE ‘A’ Level qualifications and above can apply through the Building Careers Portal (www.buildingcareers.gov.sg)

  • Existing graduates (with less than 1-year experience in the built environment sector) may also apply to join Stage 2 through the Building Careers Portal (www.buildingcareers.gov.sg).

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can foreigners apply for the scholarship / sponsorship too?
Foreigners enrolling for full-time engineering courses in NUS/NTU/SIT/SUTD are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The minimum annual scholarship sum is $14,000 per foreign scholar. Foreigners are not eligible for sponsorship.

2. Can an undergraduate apply for this scholarship / sponsorship?
Undergraduates in the midst of their studies may apply, so long as they are from the tenable courses as mentioned above.
